On the 12th Feb we cruised up to Audlem, stopping at Overwater Marina to use their facilities (not shown on this video). We passed through the first lock of the Audlem flight and moored in a lovely tree lined canopy. I unfortunately left the windlass on the tow path overnight and in the morning realised I had done so but by this time it had gone. Luckily we did have another windlass although it was a long handled one and was difficult to use on these particular locks. The following day we walked back to Hack Green to get the car and parked it at the top of the Audlem flight of locks. On the 15th Feb we woke up to beautiful day with some early morning mist. We moved up two locks and filled our water tank, due to the difficulties with using the long arm windlass I took the car and travelled back to Overwater Marina to purchase another windlass before attempting another 10 locks and mooring at Coxbank prior to the remaining 2 Audlem Locks. It was a great mooring spot and we stayed for 5 days. We met up with Duncan and Dave, here, our friends from Twitter whom we had last seen on the Leeds and Liverpool canal at Bingley. Directly opposite this mooring there were some reed beds and at night we could here an otter family playing and even managed to see them by shining a large torch through the window. What a fantastic experience!
