We stayed at our mooring at Turn Bridge Aqueduct for a few days and visited the Battlefield Line, which is sadly closed at the moment. On leaving we take a lovely cruise through open countryside down to Bosworth Marina where we catch up with some new found friends. Andrew and Julia from NB Lingalonga have been moored here for about the last three weeks. Here we stay for a few days, we visit Market Bosworth weekly market which has a lovely butchers van, fruit and veg stall, artisan bread and fish stall. It's about a mile to walk into town but its all cross country with some lovely views, we walked up with Andrew and Julia ( social distancing of course ) . The marina allowed us to use their facilities and we had a lovely short walk in the marina grounds each evening where we found two lakes and a nesting swan family. We were lucky enough to see the eggs hatch in the 3 nights we stayed and we were rewarded with a lovely family of 6 cygnets.

We left Market Bosworth and continues our journey south, we pass the Battle of Bosworth site, where in 1485 King Richard III lost his life to Henry Tudor who became the first monarch of the Tudor Dynasty making it one of the defining moments of English history. We were hoping to moor here as we had had such a great time on our way up but another boat was in the spot where we were hoping to moor and the canal was too shallow in other areas so we continue our cruise, finally mooring between bridges 32 and 31 behind our now good friends Andrew and Julia on NB Lingalonga.
Well this turned out to be a smashing mooring spot. We had easy access to Morrisons in Hinckley, it was only a 15 min cycle ride from Bridge 32. Each morning and evening we were serenaded by a Reed Bunting which perched just opposite our duck hatch while we ate our evening meal. We were also visited by a water vole each evening. We ended up moving Dunworkin in front of NB Lingalonga, this meant that we could sit on our stern deck and Andrew and Julia could sit in their bow and we could have a lovely social distancing chat each evening!
